“Like so many in the nation, we are deeply saddened to hear the news that Senator Harry Reid passed away on December 28. He served the people of Nevada and our nation in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, where he was Majority Leader.
His commitment to public service in the U.S. Congress spanned for more than three decades. During this time, he worked on and helped pass federal budgets, as well as policies to support our nation’s economic recovery, health care, the elderly, members of the U.S. military, and the great outdoors.
On behalf of Independent Sector’s board and staff, we send our condolences to his family. We also pause to acknowledge his tireless efforts on behalf of civil society and people in our nation’s diverse communities.”
