Each Monday through October 23, we’ll be sharing a weekly roundup of the latest news and stories from Our Common Future.
With one week to go until changemakers from all over the country gather in Detroit this October 25-27, here are some of the past week’s highlights from the Our Common Future blog.
Detroit Inside and Out: ACCESS Community Health & Research Center
Maha Freji shares with us about ACCESS’s Community Health & Research Center, one of the sites we’ll be visiting during Our Common Future as a part of our Detroit Inside and Out tour lineup. In addition to ACCESS, the tour focusing on refugees and immigration will also be visiting the Arab American National Museum.
Mobilizing Our Common Future – A Kinetic Art Project
If you’ll be with us in Detroit in two weeks, plan on taking some time to share your thoughts and reflections with Our Common Future artist-in-residence Kevin Reese. Throughout the conference, Kevin will draw from your insights to build an on-site foam core mobile sculpture. The culminating artwork will be dedicated on the last day of the event.

For our last installment of this series, we featured Skillman Foundation’s David Thornton, Detroit Blues singer Thornetta Davis, and Our Common Future artist-in-residence Kevin Reese.
