[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Independent Sector founder John W. Gardner once wrote, “We are all faced with a series of great opportunities – brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems.”
In the year 2020, that quote is perhaps more relevant than any time in our community’s shared history. We find ourselves in an historical moment where the forces of injustice and intolerance threaten permanent damage to our social fabric.
And we’re mere months away from an election that will definitively determine the very future of our sector, the communities we serve, and the nation as a whole. Its outcome will affect the continued viability of our organizations and govern our ability to make measurable, lasting progress in creating a more just and equitable country.
As we face the seemingly insoluble problems of systemic racism and COVID-19, our great opportunity is to grasp an indisputable truth – that we can’t return to our old “normal” – and then focus our full attention on forging a society where every person can thrive.
In this spirit, the Independent Board of Directors invites you to join in a vital conversation about the sector’s future and Independent Sector’s emerging plans for a critical year ahead during a virtual IS Members Town Hall, Monday, November 16, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm ET.
The meeting will end at 3:00 pm, followed by a 30-minute virtual networking experience for you and your fellow IS members.
During this unprecedented time for our nation, we encourage you to join us for this important gathering, and look forward to engaging with you in this urgent discussion about the future of our country and sector.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” gap=”30″ equal_height=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1599681911820{background-color: #fcfcfc !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
