On May 27, almost one hundred sector leaders convened in Minneapolis for Threads Minnesota. Inclusion and collaboration emerged as key themes of this session. Participants were concerned about the sector not keeping pace with demographic changes society. There were calls for relationship building across communities of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, and for partnership building across nonprofits working in different communities and subject areas. There were several views expressed with regard to solutions for the problems the nonprofit community is trying to address: some expressed that many solutions exist but need to be supported, while others argued for increased risk taking innovation to develop better solutions. Participants also noted the need for increased public policy advocacy and deeper relationships with government.
