Jacqueline Martinez Garcel is a visionary leader and seasoned executive with two decades of experience launching, growing, and scaling ventures that drive social and economic progress. She is the CEO and Co-founder of Murado Entertainment, a U.S.-based production company reimagining the entertainment industry. Murado tells stories rooted in perseverance, family, and hope, while creating innovative pathways for creators and communities to share in the cultural and economic value they help build.
Previously, Jacqueline served as CEO of the Latino Community Foundation (LCF), where she raised over $100 million to invest in organizations driving transformational change in communities. Under her leadership, LCF built the nation’s largest network of Latino philanthropists, launched a nonprofit accelerator to strengthen grassroots organizations, and created new capital pathways through Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to advance economic mobility for entrepreneurs.
Her prior leadership includes serving as Vice President of the New York Health Foundation and Executive Director of Community Voices – NY, where she directed more than $80 million in public funding to advance health equity and improve community well-being. She has held academic appointments at New York University’s Global Institute of Public Health, Borough of Manhattan Community College, and served as a Global Health Fellow with the NIH in Mérida, Mexico.
Jacqueline currently serves on the boards of Independent Sector, the David Rockefeller Fund, Aqui: The Accountability Movement, and the Equis Institute. She has also held advisory and board roles with the Center for Effective Philanthropy, Grantmakers in Health, California Forward, KQED, and Philanthropy Together.
Her work has been nationally recognized with numerous awards, including the 2024 USA Today Women of the Year, the 2022 Variety Social Impact Award, the CBS Jefferson Award for Public Service, and the Golden State Warriors Impact Warrior Award. She holds an MPH from Columbia University and a BS from Cornell University.
