Justine McCarthy is CEO Leadership Circle intern at Independent Sector. She supports the development of a new CEO Leadership Circle focused on education policy, assisting with recruitment, organizing enrollments, planning meetings, and ensuring member participation at Independent Sector’s National Summit 2025.
Previously, Justine worked at Howard University in a collaborative role developing and conducting research toward the University’s first ever Social Justice Certification Program, under the University’s Social Justice Consortium. She also has held positions at the U.S. Department of Justice, supporting the agency’s Fraud Section. Justine received both her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany, SUNY. Additionally, Justine is actively working toward her Doctorate in Sociology with a concentration in Social Justice from Howard University. When not working, Justine enjoys hiking and fashion styling for her friends and clients.
