M. Michelle Derosier is driven to use technology to ensure that youth of color with limited resources have access to opportunities for success and the support system to leverage them. She loves partnering with others to do the same. Michelle currently serves as the Chief Program Officer for iCouldBe, an innovative virtual mentoring nonprofit. Michelle shapes and leads the strategic vision and direction of iCouldBe’s programming and leverages data to create admin systems that enable more efficient program delivery and the ability to scale.
Michelle has 15 years demonstrated experience successfully engaging diverse communities of volunteers, teachers, schools, districts, nonprofit and community partners, as well as corporate donors to invest in the future of students. Michelle is also a freelancer who has written for online and print publications with a focus on the shared and distinct American experience of Black immigrants and Black Americans. She has written early-grade literacy passages and books for established curriculum-based publishing brands, including Curriculum Associates. Michelle is a member of the Haitian diaspora (made in Haiti and bred in Brooklyn), and is committed to snatching back the Haitian narrative from the mainstream.
