Manuel Gomez is Independent Sector’s Manager of Public Policy, where he works to grow and develop relations with members, allies, and stakeholders. Manuel served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Colombian Senate, Chief of staff for the Presidency of the Colombian Congress, and was Vice Consul of Colombia in Madrid. During his time in the United States, he has been a visiting researcher at the University of California – San Diego (UCSD). He also worked as the Economic Development and Advocacy Specialist at the North San Diego Business Chamber.
Manuel has a Bachelor’s in Public Administrator, a post-graduate degree in Development Projects, a Master’s in Territorial Planning and Environmental Management from the University of Barcelona, and a Master’s in Economic Analysis from the Complutense University of Madrid. He was born in Bogota, Colombia, and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as playing electric guitar.
