On March 6-8, Independent Sector commissioned public polling of American voters regarding their views on the Johnson Amendment, a 1954 law that prohibits charities from directly or indirectly supporting or opposing any political candidate.

TargetPoint Consulting conducted this poll with 800 people from a national sample of registered voters. Interviews were conducted live on landlines and cellphones with 39 percent of the interviews completed on cellphones. The margin of error of the survey is +/- 3.5 percent.
